This blog Fun Home Building is created and ran by a one-man-team—me (Sherry). I document the DIY projects my husband and I do around the house and share the journey (and home related updates) with online readers like you. Neither my husband nor I are professionals in home improvement or construction. The tutorials, tips and opinions on this blog are informational only. They come from the trial and error of our endeavors and worked at the time we completed the project. Fun Home Building (and us) cannot be held accountable for your personal safety or the actual result of your projects. These may vary depending on the time, knowledge, effort and resources that you have.
Privacy
When you submit a comment on the blog, email me or buy a printable, your personal information such as full name, email, mailing address, IP address, etc. will always remain hidden and won’t be passed along. Newsletters are opt-in only. You won’t receive emails from Fun Home Building, if you didn’t opt in. My goal is always to safeguard the privacy of all of my visitors and users.
Advertising and Affiliate Links
My No.1 goal with this blog is to share useful information that can help other people tackle home projects. I also hope to use it to earn extra income, to support my own home renovation and woodworking projects.
None of the posts I’ve published here are sponsored or paid for by a brand. I do occasionally work with brands on Instagram and get free products because of that. Whenever I mention a product that is gifted to me as part of a marketing campaign, I would disclose it within the blog post so you’re aware. Know that I try my best to be objective with my reviews and will always provide cheaper, better options if I am aware of any.
I participate in affiliate programs, such as Amazon Associates and LikeToKnow.it. When you click the product links on this blog and make a purchase, sometimes the purchase generates a small amount of commission (usually 3%-5%). Not all the links on this blog are affiliate links. And there is no additional cost to you, when you make a purchase through my affiliate links. The commission is part of the brands’ advertisement and marketing expense, which is passed down to the affiliate programs, and then to bloggers/creators like me.
I was lucky to be accepted to Journey by Mediavine in the summer of 2024. It’s a program that pays bloggers to place advertising in blog posts. The ad revenue is not enough to make me rich by any means, but it helps offset some of the cost of renovation projects.
Copyrights
All photos on Fun Home Building (except for these credited to a different blogger or source) are taken by me or my husband and are copyright protected. Photos or images that are not owned by us are credited and have the source linked right below. I always try to find the original source for an idea, a DIY tip or an image, so you can check out the original source yourself.
If you’d like to feature an image from Fun Home Building, you may do so as long as you don’t alter the image AND you would provide a link back to the original post.
