I am so excited you’re here! If you’re already part of my Instagram fam, look around and explore the pages I’ve prepared for you. If you’re brand new, welcome to my blog!! No matter what brought you here, I hope you find something helpful and stay awhile.
I started my DIY journey over 10 years ago when my husband and I bought our first house–a 1964 split level in the suburb of Minneapolis. I got my interior design degree from HGTV and Pinterest, and dreamed of turning my modest fixer upper into a modern million-dollar dream home.
That day never came. But I did learn enough to be dangerous with power tools. I dabbled in all kinds of Home Improvement projects, from painting my own abstract art, to making over a small linen closet, to building a kids playhouse in the backyard!
My remodeling philosophy is if it’s a practical design that is beautiful and can save me lots of money, it’s worth figuring out how to do it myself. Building something with my own hands and seeing a pile of wood or an empty room transformed is the most satisfying. I want to bring you along this journey and share all the ups and downs along the way. I don’t have all the answers, but let’s find the solutions together (by the way, did I mention hubs and I are planning to finish the basement ourselves? It’s going to be a fun ride!).
